Arduino Uno R4 is the next generation of microcontrollers. The Uno R4 is the latest addition to the Arduino microcontroller (MCU) lineup. This board is a significant update to the Arduino lineup. It is suitable for both industrial applications and the ever-popular Arduino educational purposes and has many new features and improvements.
The Uno R4 is running an ARM Cortex M4 processor, a 32-bit MCU that operates at 5 volts. This setup allows the users to rescue existing Arduino shields without any compatibility issues. There is also a Native USB interface, which removes the need for an external chip for USB serial conversion. This can mimic a keyboard or mouse, which is an added incentive for creative projects.
The Arduino Uno R4 features the inclusion of the ESP32 S3 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module. That addition once connected to an LED display matric, with a quick connector for sensor modules makes the R4 a very versatile project board or addition to an industrial lineup of sensor data collection or IoT systems.
The R4 is already available and is an affordable microcontroller at $27.50 USD. The board retains the ease of use that Arduino is known for and is an excellent board for the beginner or established developer alike.
