Advantech released the MIC-733-AO, Edge AI computing system running an NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin processor.
AI AMR Applications
There is a great need for autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) in such diverse fields as logistics, warehouse management, and smart manufacturing. The capabilities of AMRs revolve around boosting labor where shortages exist and working in harsh environments. In order to perform reliably and at scale there need to be three continuous and scalable devices, namely AI computing, 5G wireless communication, and high-resolution video input integration.
The MIC-733-AO Edge AI computing system delivers for AMRs
The MIC-733-AO is a compact fanless solution, built specifically for edge AI computing-intensive applications. There is a wide range of expansion slots and I/O, including 4XUSB 3.0, 2X Mini-PCIe, and 2X M.2 for AI development. In addition, the iDoor and iModule provide expansion and support for diverse peripherals enabling I/O module customization through the mini-PCIe and full PCIe interfaces. That includes the use and modification of CAN bus controllers, CoaxPress frame grabbers, or PoE modules for IP cameras.
To accommodate innovation and growing AMR demand, the MIC-733-AO features 2x GigE (MGBE) ports for high-speed data transmission allowing 5G communication. The system uses the Jetson AGX Orin-based AI computing and advanced 5G low latency capabilities for edge AI AMR applications.
The wide operating temperature range of -10 to +60 °C allows the MIC-733-AO to function in harsh environments and outdoor use cases such AMRs can work in.
NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin System For Edge AI
The MIC-733-AO computing system leverages a powerful NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin to run energy-efficient autonomous machines. This helps accelerate NVIDIA AI software stacks with 4X the CUDA cores and 8X the performance of the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier processors. The system also supports the latest sensor arrays and high-speed interfaces.
