June 15, 2017 – Circuit Cellar is pleased to announce that Jeff Child has joined our team as Editor-in-Chief of Circuit Cellar magazine. Over his 27 years covering the embedded electronics and computing industry, Jeff has held senior editorial positions with EE Times, Computer Design, Electronic Design, and Embedded Systems Development—most recently serving as Editor-in-Chief of COTS Journal. He brings a strong background in editing and writing technical content. Well known and well respected in the technology trade media, Jeff has knowledge in a variety of electronics/embedded topics including but not limited to embedded computers, microcontrollers, processors, power supplies, memory storage, drones, FPGAs, IoT, graphics processors, software development, and real-time operating systems.
“I am thrilled and honored to be joining Circuit Cellar magazine—a publication whose stature and legacy in the electronics industry I have long admired,” says Jeff. “There are two converging trends happening in technology today: On the one hand the tools, chips, and information resources available today put more power into that hands of makers and electronics do-it-yourself (DIY) experts than ever before. At the same time, system-level chip technologies are enabling some of the most game-changing applications driving today’s markets; including commercial drones, driverless cars, Internet-of-Things (IoT), robotics, mobile devices, and more. I am thrilled by the fact that Circuit Cellar’s readers are at the center of both those trends.”
“Jeff has just the right experience, skills, and background to carry on the high-quality level of technical content that Circuit Cellar is known for while also extending the CC brand,” said KC Prescott, President of KCK Media Corp., “I’m pleased to have him join our team; especially now when so much compelling technology innovation is happening in the industries Circuit Cellar’s readers are interested in.”
