Qseven Card Sports Renesas RZ/G1M

iWave has announced a System-On-Module (SOM) based on Renesas RZ/G1M embedded processr. RZ/G1M SOM is Qseven R2.0 compatible industrial grade CPU module. Called the iW-RainboW-G20M, this SOM module supports 1 GB DDR3 RAM, 4 GB eMMC Flash and 2 MB SPI NOR Flash. Expandable memory is optional. The module also includes on SOM Gigabit Ethernet PHY, Micro SD slot and USB HUB.

renesas-rz-g1-mpu-embedded-boardRenesas’s RZG1M processor supports dual cortex A15 core operating at 1.5 GHz core and includes 64-bit DDR3 interface at 800 MHz. These features provide higher performance for applications such as image processing of multiple video streams and video sensing. The high-speed on-chip integrated USB 3.0, PCIe, Gbit Ethernet and SATA peripherals allows easy expansion of functionality without the need for external components. The RZ/G1M processor supports full HD hardware encode and decode processing up to 1,080 at 60 frames/s, dual display and three channel video input ports. The built-in PowerVR SGX544MP2 Graphics core at 520 MHz allows the user to develop highly effective user interfaces.

The RZ/G1M SOM is supported Linux 3.10 LTSI with Android BSP support to come. To enable quick prototyping of RZG1M SOM, iWave systems supports RZ/G1M development kit with comprehensive peripheral support. This will help customers to save up to 60% of new product development cycle using the RZ-G1M MPU.

Qseven & SMARC Cards Boast i.MX8 CPUs

Congatec has announced support of the new 64-bit NXP i.MX8 processors for the Qseven and SMARC module standards. As a member of NXP’s Early Access Program, the new congatec modules will be available in time with the production launch of the new ARM Cortex A53 / A72 based processor family. This enables OEM customers to implement their first-to-market strategies efficiently, since they can start designing the carrier board for their applications now and will be able to leverage application-ready i.MX8 based Congatec modules from day one of the launch date.

conga-QMX8_pressThe new Qseven and SMARC modules with NXP i.MX8 real-time processors are well suited for a wide range of industrial, stationary and in-vehicle applications, as the processors integrate up to four cores and high-performance graphics for up to four independent displays with low energy consumption. Since the modules are designed for the extended ambient temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, they can also be used in fleet systems for commercial vehicles or in infotainment applications in cabs, buses and trains as well as all the new electric and autonomous vehicles. The acceptance of these new platforms is accelerated by the widespread use of ARM technologies in the consumer electronics market, which further reinforces the dominance of ARM technology, especially in the (ultra-) low-power segment of embedded computer technologies.

Qseven Module with Quad-core Pentium Processor with 4K Resolution

congatec AG recently announced an addition to its Qseven family. The conga-QA4 module includes the new Intel Pentium and Celeron processors based on 14-nm technology and offers increased energy savings and computing power. The optimized Intel Gen8 graphics, with up to 16 graphics execution units (EUs) and 4K (3,840 × 2,160 pixels) resolution, create a high-quality visual experience.conga-QA4_congatec

The module comes in three different processor versions (Intel Braswell) for high scalability. They range from the entry-level, dual-core Intel Celeron N3050 with 1.6/2.08 GHz to the quad-core Intel Pentium N3700 with 1.6/2.4 GHz, each with a power consumption of 4 W for standard applications (Scenario Design Power, SDP).

With the new conga-QA4 module, you can upgrade Qseven applications to the latest processor technology quickly and easily. The Qseven module comes with up to 8-GB, dual-channel DDR3L memory and up to 64-GB eMMC 5.0 for mass storage. The enhanced integrated Intel Gen8 graphics supports DirectX 11.1, OpenGL 4.2, and OpenCL 1.2. The new hardware-accelerated video decoding of H.265/HEVC requires a 50% lower data rate compared to H.264/AVC, so you can stream 4K videos in real time.

You can use the conga-QA4 module for a variety of retail, digital signage, and medical applications, or whenever you need high-performance graphics, outstanding computing power, and passive cooling. With native USB 3.0 support, the conga-QA4 module provides fast data transmission despite low power draw. Six USB 2.0 ports are available, one of which is executed as USB 3.0 SuperSpeed.

Three PCI Express 2.0 lanes and two SATA 3.0 ports with up to 6 Gb/s allow fast and flexible system extensions. The Intel I211 Gigabit Ethernet Controller offers the best software compatibility, while I2C bus, LPC bus for easy integration of legacy I/O interfaces, and Intel High Definition Audio with an 8-channel sound card round off the feature set.
